“Big Brother Mzansi” Set for Relaunch
After a six-year break, “Big Brother Mzansi” is coming back!
On Monday, 11 October, entertainment commentator Phil Maphela revealed on Twitter that the reality competition show – which sees confined housemates completing certain tasks for a chance at winning a cash prize – will be relaunched soon.
Maphela wrote: “Multichoice is working on bringing the popular reality show back. Sources have informed me that a final brief on the status of the show’s return will be made today.”
He added that “no official audition channels have been approved yet”, meaning that auditions for housemates have not yet been carried out.
If and when launched, it will be the show’s fifth season; the fourth season aired back in 2015. The winners were Nkanyiso Ace Khumalo and Ntombifuthi Tshabalala, who had won R2 million after spending 56 days inside the house.
However, “Big Brother Mzansi” was cancelled thereafter presumably due to financial reasons.
No doubt fans will be excited for the show’s comeback and are looking out for incoming information – watch this space!
